The time has come to leave Tokyo for next month and a half while I traverse the southern parts of Japan. Before I departure for good I stay four nights in nearby Yokohama, which is a slower-paced version of the capital city.

I am staying at Yasuhiro’s beautiful four bedroom house, which he renovated himself from the ground up. Home decor is of the rustic style. Cute big and small jars all around, bulbs turned into little flower pots, hand-made invented accessories, hanging units and fridge doors painted with black chalk paint and signed what’s where they all add up to a very cosy place to enjoy.

Yokohama is home to a baseball team, which I hope to watch playing live. There is also the biggest china town in Japan and a ramen museum, where you can taste dish variations from all over the country.

Definitely looking forward to exploring the area!
