I have been invited out to one of Tokyo’s bars where a DJ plays live music and you get unlimited drinks for 3 hours for only 3000 yen (£20). It was a great opportunity to meet people, see how Japanese nightlife looks like and try new cocktails.
There was a married guy, who joined right after work. A typical salarymen. He said if he was drunk his wife would have banned him from coming back home. It’s very common (apparently) that a husband runs a wild nightlife while his wife sits at home with kids.
Right, so this brings me to the point where all men in the club look at girls like at a pray. I mean its not that different to what we know in Europe, but here it’s extreme even though they come across as rather shy people.
As far as Japanese girls go they give a vibe that they are absolutely desperate to have a husband, so they try to hook up with anyone to have that commitment sorted thus no mother or friends will bother them anymore – kinda social pressure.
No one danced. Literally. There was live music and no one even wobbled for a moment.
Meh, weird, but otherwise it was lots of fun =)
