Period between late March and early April is one of the busiest time in Japan. That’s because blooming cherry trees (sakura) attract visitors from around the World. Thanks to them parks, gardens and streets get a make over and they certainly remind every one the summer is around the corner.
While most of tourist crave to see them in the daylight, there are groups that enjoy the Hanami season far better during the night. They gather with friends under the trees where they lay down some sheets, lanterns and enjoy picnic style evening eating hot food and drinking alcohol. Today I was invited to a such gathering where the mixture of Japanese and foreigners were appreciating each others company.
The atmosphere is one of a kind. People dancing, laughing, singing to the blend of music and cheering when they raise another shot of alcohol. My official thanks to Kasia & Krzysztof from TheUwagaPies for letting me know about it and joining me to celebrate such an amazing time in Japan. You can see an awesome 360 degrees shot at this link.
